Future Art Ecosystems
A project for building 21st century cultural infrastructure.
Embedded in Serpentine’s Arts Technologies team, FAE facilitates the emergence of new systems for art, technology and society.
Future Art Ecosystems first launched in 2020 as an annual strategic briefing. A vibrant community of cultural institutions, artists, producers, curators, researchers and technologists emerged from it, collaborating on a wide range of projects that research, prototype and support art and advanced technologies for the public good.
Working closely with Serpentine's Arts Tech team we re-imagined Future Art Ecosystems as a community-oriented research platform. By repositioning FAE from being a static resource (ie. its annual publication) to being home to a thriving ecosystem that encompasses projects, briefings, R&D labs and partnerships, we've re-launched the new futureartecosystems.org as a strategic partner in early 2024.
